TREKSPACE

The social network for Star Trek Fans!

Being that it is kind of funny to see what people who know next to nothing about a show or whatever remember after seeing a few episodes... I'm curious about what other people claim to know after just a tiny while.

For example, when I was watching DS9 and my mum or dad happened to be in the room, they would always say "ooh gotta watch those Cardassians" every time someone mentioned the word Cardassian.

And my mum reckons the only character she remembers by name is Dax (for some reason I'm not entirely sure what.) She says so, anyway.

my parents were Trek fans before I was (but not as much and deep into it as I am now), so they never have anything negative to say. My brother is barely into Trek and thinks the only good Trek is TNG. I remember him saying that he thought DS9 was the worst, but I forget why he said so (he's never really seen it much anyway). I'm of the opposite opinion and most of the time think that DS9 is the best

Wow. I'd actually probably go the opposite way from your Aunt and say that DS9 was the darkest, least "liberal" and certainly least idealistic of all of them.

My mum doesn't like DS9, in her opinion, there's "too much talking". LOL. She's a big fan of TOS and TNG though.

That reminds me of the movie "Amadeus" and that line about "too many notes" !!

My girlfriend loves it. I was watching it through on DVD n she made me start from the beginning again so she could watch it with me. She's a really small skinny girl and into competitive sports. When she plays she screams out Worf quotes like "Death to the opposition" n stuff like that. Star Trek is a great plague I dont mind spreading

Most of my friends/family have never seen DS9 and are not interested at all (more fool them huh?). One of my nephews does know a bit about Star Trek, he once asked me if I lived where I did because it has in the address "Worf" !! I was rather amused (and pleased that he actually knew who Worf was) but explained that it is actually "Wharf" and nothing to do with Star Trek!
