It, along with 2001: A Space Odyssey, still hold up as the sci-fi vanguards of the 70's. Amazingly, I fell in love with Richard Jordan [as a young man] in this film. I liked him in "Dune" as Duncan Idaho, and adored him in "Gettysburg" as Lewis Armisted" leading Pickett's Charge.
