But I wanted to say that I am thankful for all the friends I have met on Trekspace and My Star Trek Site. These are both great places to experience Infinite Diversity In Infinite Combinations. (This time last year I was sharing Thanksgiving with an Aussie couple, and some people from all across the US; I was on a cruise, near Morocco I think. Great fun.)

I think he does pay homage to the original, in smaller ways but noticeable ways- at least I thought so. There is a bit of the Kirk swagger there, in the way he enters the bridge in the last scene. He enters, pauses, then walks to the chair talking...
