I live in Colorado. A thing called snow exists here and we humans manage quite well in it. (Sort of - just stay away from Vail.) Thinking I should be Vegas bound. Anyone else headed that way for the Holidays?

I had the most fasinating conversations at STTE and our beloved Quarks. I miss them terribly. But perhaps the ones I miss most are the chats with beings from other planets - about their lives and thus reflecting on my own. I remember a conversation…

Star Fleet Alert

STAR FLEET ALERT

The true origins of Spam, known by many as "the mystery meat", has recently come to the attention of Star Fleet. Spam was developed by the Ferengis as a highly addictive substance by which they could control humans. Via the Whiggula Wormhole, the Ferengi went back in time and reached earth in the early 1940s, a time known as World War II. They sold large quantities of Spam to American and Allied forces and expected their control of Earth to be quick. Fortunately, much of Spam’s addictive quality was destroyed by the wormhole’s intensive gamma radiation. HOWEVER, BE WARNED: Star Fleet has learned that many Star Fleet officers display unusually high susceptibility to Spam addiction. In light of this, Star Fleet hereby recommends that all Star Fleet personnel limit their intake of Spam to not more than one can per week and under no circumstances should individuals consume Spam while alone. Early warning signs of Spam addiction are unprovoked exclamations such as “This is Spamalious!” or “Let’s Spamarama!” If, however, an individual should discuss combining Spam with chocolate, or even go so far as to consume such, immediate medical assistance is required.

Hi Lois! I would love to come and hang out with you! I will still be either in my wheelchair or on crutches, but I will find a way to get there. Keep me posted!

Sorry for the delayed reaction. I sometimes don't see any other parts of my page other than groups and go right to The Experience page. Cool photos. Thanks for the heads-up.

Ah, sorry! I forgot to check my profile. Anyway, my con was SOOO fun but I'm still so jealous of you! :) I start school tomorrow, so I guess I'll have to be thinking of non-Trek things though, haha.

Hi Lois;
Umm, it's T'Pril--think you were confusing me and Kahlen...anyway, it was a little disconcerting to see T'Pril's home planet blown to smithereens decades before she was supposed to be born in the year 2300. I went around afterwards and asked people if I could crash on their couch, since I didn't have a home to go to!

But honestly, my reaction to it is this--it's an alternate reality, but in the reality we've known for over 40 years, things are still going on as they had before (except there's no Romulus and Spock is in two places at once, but no longer with us in our timeline). So, in T'Pril's universe, nothing has changed...she's still a professor at the Vulcan Science Academy, still chairing the Earth Studies Program, and her planet is still as solid as it ever was. I doubt we'll see the original universe again, because we've "flipped the channel" so to speak. That means it's unlikely that T'Pril and Tahryn will pass this way again. Remember them fondly; I certainly will.

There seems like a lot more Trek fans since the movie came out. I'm always coming across people--in restaurants, libraries, bookstores, etc--talking about or mentioning something Star Trek related. They vary in age and gender a lot, too. I figure mo…
