February 18: On This Day In Science Fiction History

Another day of very slim pickings from the world of science fiction, my friends.  All I could find was that, on this day in history back in the year 2000, the sleeper sci fi hit, PITCH BLACK, was released to the world.

The teen sci-fi flick I AM NUMBER FOUR opened on this day in 2011.

Actress Tammy Macintoch -- she played Jool on the stellar FARSCAPE -- was born on this day in 1970.

Screen veteran John Travolta -- seen here in BATTLEFIELD: EARTH -- was born on this day in 1954.

Julie Strain -- screen skin actress seen above in as appropriate attire as I could find, from BATTLE QUEEN 2020 -- was born on this day in 1952.

And the always unappreciated Molly Ringwald -- seen above in one of my personal favorite B movies that's also always unappreciated, SPACEHUNTER: ADVENTURES IN THE FORBIDDEN ZONE -- celebrates her birth from 1968.

As always, live long and prosper!

Pitch Black and Farscape! ^.^ The rest I haven't seen, but Molly Ringwald in a scifi flick? >.> I shall investigate this thoroughly!

I love Jool. She's one of my favorite Farscape characters.

I think I remember seeing Battlefield: Earth in theaters. What an odd movie...

Scott replied to Scott's discussion ST: Into Darkness, filling the plotholes [SPOILERS]
"The novelization seems to provide a slightly better explanation for beaming from Earth to Kronos (natively, Qo'noS). He apparently used the experimental transwarp beaming device to relay himself to an orbiting freighter, then on to the Moon…"
