On Syfy's Defiance, she runs a brothel. Pardon my obvious sexism, but I'm guessing it's a very successful brothel. Mia Kirshner cut her acting teeth in a whole slew of mostly forgettable minor roles, but it was her wicked transformation as the terrorist-for-hire in Fox TV's 24 program that propelled her career into new heights. With her plum appearance as a regular on Defiance, she's finally reaping the benefits of her perseverance. Ms. Kirschner was born on this day back in 1975.
I guess if you're really only going to appear in one major science fiction motion picture throughout your acting career, then you may as well make it a great one. That's exactly what Leigh Taylor-Young did, appearing alongside genre veteran Charlton Heston in 1973's epic Soylent Green. Not a bad choice, eh? Taylor-Young was born on this day in 1945.
For most of us, this will be little more than another face and another name you don't know ... and that's a crying shame because Geoff Johns has been behind some of the most incredible comic book stories of the last decade, if not longer. His 10-year run on DC's seminal Green Lantern books has been nothing short of Epic (with a capital E, you notice), and I can't encourage those of you who love great space opera to take the time to read his stuff with the various Lantern Corps. It's jaw-droppingly-awesome. Johns was born on this day in 1973.
"While Ian, Barbara and their Thal friends try to find a way into the Dalek City through the mountains, the Doctor, Susan and Alydon attempt to make their own way in."
"Data rescues a boy, and in a way to repress his own pain, the boy begins to mimic Data's personality."
