I have heard that as well. Though if you notice there are a few episodes when Kirk identifies the himself as 'Captain Kirk, of the United Earth Ship Enterprise... I always thought that was interesting...

I have heard that and it is commonly accepted and logical, but I have also heard that they were never officially assigned a meaning. According to canon, it is undetermined as per the original Enterprise designers.

What I've Been Up To

Hey shipmates, Yeah, I haven't been around much lately, sorry about that. There's been a lot of personal nonsense going on that I won't go into; I come to Trekspace to take a break from sh** like that.
