this pic was my last bite of chicken. i did not shape it, purely natural as it was and just had to photograph it. I put a toothpick across it just to give it that official look.

Online Starbase is a Star Trek/Starfleet themed forum. Founded in 2002, it has remained a place of values and respect with an active membership base, and the mission statement of being an active forum community set within a Star Trek frame of reference and using a long-standing promotion criteria. Members begin their Online Starbase career at the entry-level rank of ensign, with opportunities to advance in both rank and assignment dependent on levels of active participation and ability to contribute. Additionally, Online Starbase sets it self apart from other organizations due to the fact ranks are earned through service and positions are granted based on starbase qualifications, positions which are non-simm, and actually operate the website in its many areas.

Online Starbase's first commanding officer was Robert Richardson, who had used his experience from prior military and online trek organizations to develop the basic rank, regulations, and procedural infrastructure still used today. His goals were not to develop the base into a large organization, however, and because of this decision, membership remained small and exclusive for years. Ewan Vanguard, the second officer to promote to the position of starbase commander, made a mark in the direction of the community when one of his first decisions was to move the group to proboards and change the exclusivity of the membership, opening it up to public registration, a decision which would ultimately lead to a much larger membership and exposure on the web. Ryan W. Dean (December 2008-Present) is the most recent officer to advance to the office of Starbase Commander, after 6 years of service to the organization.

I haven't played any sims in several years. When I get together with my group, it is usually your classic RPGs, Battletech, Munchkin, Frag, or something that occupies our time.

Where Do the Vulcans Go From Here?

JJ Abrams has made many, many changes to the Star Trek we know and love. Some of them have been great, innovative, and some of them not so good.  I was unsure about seeing the first film, but went because I have a dear older friend who desired my company. I have to say on the whole I was pleasantly surprised with Star Trek XI. I was enjoying it, for the most part. And then got the body-slam of first Vulcan exploding and then Spock's mother dying.  It took a little bit for my head to catch up…See More

T'Bree replied to Steve Emirzian's discussion Things that don't make sense about Wrath of Khan.
"If you recall in Space Seed, Kirk gave Khan access to the ship's library! And Spock makes mention of just how much use their patient was making of it! And how quickly. Still, with this Enterprise being refitted, it is unlikely Khan would know…"

Trekscribbler (aka Ed) replied to LT Com.Narvina Lynn T'Val's discussion Captain Pike
"I think the Trek trinity is probably why the Original Series is so fondly remembered as it is, but I tend to think that the moon landing was really what helped push folks to find the show in syndication.  At least, that's what is…"

"James T. Kirk's character was actually inspired by Horatia Hornblower. Not simply the macho-type Cowboy of the 1960s America. I don't like the spin-off series. I'm so not interested in the wimpy, not-quite-sure-I'm-a-guy male…"
