The singer and author of the song is Julia Ecklar, one of fandom's greatest filkers. She's well known now under the pseudonym "L.A. Graff" as the author of a number of Trek novels. I've never read 'em, but I LOVE her singing!!! I'm gonna go put a few more of her songs (some written by other excellent fannish composers) on my page. She has some CD's out, with songs for many fandoms.
